Our company history combines engineering roots, strategic growth, and experienced management.

Our story

The company began operations in 1970 as a Telettra production site for FDM telecommunications equipment.

Over the years, both PDH and SDH Add Drop Multiplexer systems were moved into production and brought to considerable production volumes, and then specialized activities on optical Wavelength Division Multiplexing technology since the late 1990s.

The site meanwhile passed to Alcatel, until 2015 with the acquisition of Flextronics and the transition to an EMS set-up to offer services to more customers and on diversified technologies.

Adriatronics has been the company’s name since 2025, leading to its transition to StarTech Trieste in the last quarter of 2025, with renewed ambitions and a strategic focus on the latest fiber-optic technologies.

Prototyping and mass production of ADM systems with optical interfaces up to 2.5 Gb/s

1998

Focus on WDM systems up to 160 channels, with progressively higher modulation formats and bitrates up to 600 Gb/s coherent

EMS services on diversified products -engineering, prototyping, manufacturing, field repair, logistics

Today

Engineering, Automatic Test and Process solution design, SMT, mechatronics manufacturing systems, supply chain and logistics
